Finnish sauna and wellbeing

Sauna — What science says. Finns have said for centuries that the sauna heals. Science is now beginning to confirm it.

Heart & Cardiovascular Health: Regular sauna use has been linked to a lower risk of cardiovascular disease. The University of Eastern Finland followed more than 2,000 men for 20 years and found that those who used the sauna 4-7 times per week had a 63% lower risk of fatal heart disease.

Sleep: The cooling down after a sauna session activates the sleep hormone melatonin. Many regular sauna users report deeper, longer sleep on sauna days.

Stress & Mental Wellbeing: Heat stimulates the production of endorphins and reduces cortisol — the stress hormone. The combination of warmth, rest and the ritual itself works as a reset for the nervous system.

Muscles & Recovery: Heat increases blood circulation, relaxes stiff muscles and accelerates recovery after exercise.

Skin: Sweating cleanses the pores deeply. Combine with a linen towel for a complete skincare routine.
